Privacy Policy
Last updated 12 July 2026
Our services are provided under the trading name Brighton Plumbing Co. The legal entity you contract with is named in your quote and invoice.
Who we are
This policy explains how Brighton Plumbing Co handles personal information collected through this website and in the course of providing plumbing services. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
The legal entity that operates this website and provides our services is named in your quote and invoice. If you have any question about this policy, contact us using the details on our Contact page.
What we collect
We only collect information we need to respond to your enquiry, quote a job, schedule and carry out work, invoice you, and meet our legal obligations.
- Quote and contact forms: your name, mobile number, email address (if you provide it), suburb, a description of the job, and any photos you upload.
- Chat: the messages you type into our website assistant, along with any contact details you provide in the chat. The assistant is automated and transcripts are kept.
- Phone and email: notes from calls and copies of correspondence relating to your enquiry or job.
- On the job: your property address, access notes, and photos of the work area taken for quoting, compliance or warranty purposes.
- Analytics and cookies: technical information such as pages visited, device type and approximate location, collected through Google Analytics. We also store a cookie that records how you found us (for example a search ad click) so we know which advertising works. Analytics data is not used to identify you.
Why we collect it
We use your information to respond to enquiries, prepare quotes, book and carry out plumbing work, send invoices and receipts, meet record-keeping and plumbing-compliance obligations, and improve our website. We do not use your information for purposes unrelated to these without asking you first.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their marketing.
We use a small number of service providers to run this website and our business. Information you submit may be processed by them on our behalf:
- Vercel: hosts this website and processes form submissions. Vercel operates data centres in multiple regions, including outside Australia.
- Resend: delivers the emails that carry your enquiry to us. Resend processes data in the United States.
- Google Analytics: collects anonymised website usage data. Google processes data in the United States and other regions.
Overseas disclosure
Because the providers above operate infrastructure outside Australia, some information you submit through this website may be stored or processed overseas, primarily in the United States. We choose providers with recognised security practices, but overseas recipients are not bound by the APPs in the same way we are.
How we keep it secure
This website is served over an encrypted connection. Access to enquiry details is limited to the people who need them to respond to you. We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details for as long as needed to respond and follow up. Records connected to completed work, including invoices and compliance documents, are kept for the periods required by tax and plumbing-regulation law. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.
Access and correction
You can ask us at any time for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete. Contact us using the details on our Contact page and we will respond within a reasonable time. There is no charge for making a request.
Complaints
If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, contact us first and we will investigate and respond. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or by calling 1300 363 992.
